What to Expect At Your Upcoming Visit
We require a 24 hour notice for any cancellations or reschedules. Thank you for helping us keep appointments available for patients in need.
Complete All Required Intake Forms in Advance
Submitting forms ahead of time allows our clinical team to review your history thoroughly and focus on your care the moment you arrive.
- Specialty & Referral Patients: A technician will contact you for a brief phone interview prior to your visit to gather clinical details and ensure a smooth appointment.
Bring All Current Visual Aids and Prescriptions
Provide Relevant Medical Records and Medications
Arrive 15 Minutes Early with ID and Insurance
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment. This ensures adequate time for check-in and preliminary testing without reducing your face-to-face time with the doctor. Remember to bring your photo ID and current medical and vision insurance cards.
Prepare for Dilation and Accessibility Needs
Most exams involve dilation, which can cause temporary light sensitivity and blurred vision for several hours.
- Support & Mobility: Please bring any required mobility aids (canes, walkers, or wheelchairs). If you require assistance with communication or care coordination, we recommend having a caregiver or support person accompany you.

Advanced Pre-Testing and Retinal Imaging
Before your eye health exam, you will complete a few quick tests, including a vision check and digital retinal imaging.
Why Retinal Imaging Matters
This quick, painless imaging helps our doctors detect and monitor eye health conditions—often before symptoms occur. Digital retinal imaging helps us track signs of:
- Glaucoma
- Diabetic retinopathy
- Macular degeneration
What Happens During Your Eye Exam
At OPMT Vision Centers, your exam is about more than just reading letters on a chart. Even when your sight feels fine, a routine exam protects your long-term vision. During your exam, your doctor will:
- Perform a refraction to determine your precise prescription.
- Evaluate your eye coordination and muscle function.
- Examine the health of the internal and external structures of your eye.
- Discuss personalized solutions for your lifestyle and visual needs.
