Here are some tips:
- Get a dilated comprehensive eye exam, especially those ages 40 and older. Early detection is key.
- Don’t smoke or quit smoking. Smoking significantly increases the risk for certain diseases.
- Eat a healthy and balanced diet. Certain vitamins and nutrients found in foods are helpful in slowing down the progression of many eye diseases.
- Wear sunglasses with UV protection. Protecting your eyes from the sun can help the progression of cataracts.
