Pediatric Vision Care
Early eye exams and vision management establish your child’s interaction with the visual world. Proper visual skills are imperative for educational and social development, impacting every aspect of your child’s life.
Because the ability to see clearly is only one factor in successful development, a comprehensive eye exam detects problems with visual tracking, coordinated use of the eyes, and focusing abilities.
We encourage parents to include a trip to the optometrist on the list of baby check-ups. The American Optometric Association recommends scheduling your baby’s first eye assessment at 6 months. This commitment to early detection is the best way to ensure your child’s healthy vision for successful development, now and in the future.
We are a member of InfantSEE®. This is a public health program and is designed to ensure that eye and vision care becomes an essential part of infant wellness care to improve a child’s quality of life. Under this program, we are able to provide a comprehensive infant eye assessment between 6 and 12 months of age as a no-cost public service.
Here at Optometric Physicians of Middle Tennessee we have a vast selection of children’s eye-wear. Our talented staff will ensure that your children will find the ideal lenses and frames for their prescription and lifestyle.
